1. OPD Examination: 1,000

• torchlight, direct ophthalmoscopy, indirect ophthalmoscopy (monocular & binocular), SL, 90D lens, gonioscopy, streak retinoscopy

2. Refractions: 40

3. Corneal Ulcer Lab: 20 patients

• mobility, community based rehabilitation, referral

6. Pediatric Ophthalmology: 100 children

• visual acuity testing, examination and decision-making
• observation of paediatric cataract surgery
• post-op follow-up (documentation of 5 children)
• counselling of parents

7. Vitreo-Retinal Department: 50 patients

• examination and decision making
• fundus drawing (10)

8. Glaucoma Clinic: 50 patients

• applanation
• gonioscopy
• disc evaluation
• FDT

9. A-Scan: 20 patients

• manual and automated keratometry, axial length measurement

10. Retro/Parabulbar anaesthesia: 40 patients

• technique, management of emergencies

11. Cataract Surgery: 40-60

• sutured ECCE/PC IOL, stepwise
• first post-op day self-assessment

12. Other Surgery: 

• according to surgical skills and availability

13. Ward-Rounds (daily)

• quick assessment of post-surgical patients before discharge

14. Cataract Screening Camps: 2

• participation in camps
• pre-operative examination at hospital

15. Satellite Clinics Malangwa & Rajbiray: 1 each

16. Community Ophthalmology (introduction)

• lecture (4 hours)

17. Basics in Hospital Management

• lecture (1 hour)

18. Small Research Work / Survey: 1

• design, data collection, statistical work-up, presentation

19. Basics in Instrument Maintenance

• demonstration (1 hour)

20. Assigned Case Presentation, Journal Club

21. Biratnagar Eye Hospital visit for VR clinic & PK (one week)

22. Presentation of training results

• presentation/discussion of surgical results
• presentation/discussion of non-surgical trainings
